Dave Adams (Mojo Sam) Has Died

From Meatball Fulton:

I just wanted to let you know that last Thursday, Dave Adams died.  I only heard about it yesterday.  It was a heart issue.  Most of you know Dave played Mojo Sam.

I’ll have more to say in the days to come.  But for now, I just wanted to say, “Here’s to good ol’ Dave.  So long, old friend.”

ZBS Foundation broadcast this message in early July:

Mr. Fulton has been wishing he could get the actors back into the studio. He has a new series ready to record, Mojo’s Café for Lost Dreamers. The series has twelve short stories that take place in Mojo’s cordial little coffee shop. His café is really a refuge from reality.

This appears to the third and final attempt to give Mojo Sam the Yoodoo Man his own series. I greatly enjoyed The Land Of Enchantment and Mojo's Vest Pocket Voodoo Adventures but sadly they were never followed up.

I have an earlier post about Dave here. It contains more history and a recording of Dave that every ZBS fan should hear. In particular he reads letters sent by fans after Robert Lorick (Jack Flanders) died.

I may update this post later. I'm not awake enough right now to make things nice and tidy.

It's truly the end of an era.
